How a Loser Being Reincarnated Saved the World

Hey! My name is Garrett. For as long as I can remember, I've been nothing but a loser. Grade school, middle school, high school, and even the year I spent in college amounted to nothing. I never gave it my all, and I always leeched off of others. I spent the majority of my life like this, always depending on others and taking advantage of them. Then one day I decided to head to the gas station. I was just going there to get some soda so I can satisfy my sugar addiction while I watch anime in my room. While I was there someone decided to pull out a gun and try and rob the place. At that point I don't know what overcame me, but I decided to try and attack the gunman. While in the process, I ended up being shot and I died. This is where my story begins. After death I was reincarnated to a poor family in a world of swords and magic. I vowed to myself and the family I left behind that I wouldn't be like the loser I was. I will become the man I've always wanted to be.
